Rocking Horse Bib

Inspired by the Trio of Orange Delights from a recent Paint Creek Trail hike, the peaches and cream baby bib features include self locking leaf-shaped ties in contrasting colors and a rocking horse embellished with leaf green floss. As I look at the photo of the bib, the ties and shape could also represent a castle with turrets, if other colors were selected.

Using a Spreadsheet to Chart Colors

Pony_SketchPony SketchAn MS ExcelTM spread-sheet was used to create the color chart for the Rocking Horse Bib from a small sketch of a rocking horse. The spreadsheet columns and rows were narrowed until the detail corresponded to the level appropriate for the sketch and desired gauge. Then the squares were filled in with a contrasting color. Baby Booties

Design Features: These booties are knit of acrylic, fingering weight yarn in cream with blue trim and soles and accented with contrasting I-cord ties. They feature 1x1 rib, baby cable and garter stitches.

The body of the booty is knit flat, then sewn together at the center back. (I knitted these in the round with two circular needles to mimimize the number of seams to be sewn and speed the process. This left only a foot center bottom seam to sew.)
