Sweetheart Bands

These sweetheart head and wristbands were inspired by the colors of the spring blooming, heart-shaped dicentra (bleeding heart); cream, with dark and light pinks.

This high relief, textured hair band, is 2-3/8" wide, knitted flat and joined to form a ring using a Kitchener (grafting) stitch. Optionally, the band can be seamed at the center back to form the ring. The design features garter stitch borders, a center cable of light pink Xs and dark pink Os and slip stitch accents. The band stretches in both directions so it is forgiving, size wise.
The pattern is provided in written and charted formats for medium headband (19"-21") and wristband (6"-7") circumferences. Instructions for custom sizing are also included. Read more for gauge, yarn and other pattern information:

Knit Picks Gloves and Socks Added as Ravelry Projects

It's taken me a while to learn how to post pattern and project information on Ravelry. So that's why you haven't heard from me for a few days. Now that I've added two Knit Picks patterns: Whirligig Gloves and Two Toes Tubes (infant socks), I look forward to seeing your versions of these patterns posted on Ravelry as well.

Regal Gloves

The Whirligig glove pattern is now available with two colorway charts: regal gold and purple; or winter white and nature colors. The four-color, Fair Isle style Whirligig gloves feature a contrasting 2 x 2 ribbed cuff and windmills in 3 colors, staggered across a gold or sky blue background. A provisional (waste yarn) thumb was employed to reduce knitting complexity, speed the knitting and provide a streamlined thumb. A fingertip guide was used for the stranding technique. A video illustrates the use of the fingertip guide to knit with 2 colors: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G-0ApmvvhTA .
