I've used my Hands-free Magnifier many times over the years for fine cross stitch and grafting tasks and never thought to purchase a magnifying lamp. Recently, however, we inherited one and it proved to be the perfect tool for some grafting of fine stitches at night. Normally I would have waited for daylight for this task, but the Globe Magnifier Desk Lamp made it possible to both pick up the stitches and graft them in the evening, using only the built in 12 W fluorescent bulb. I have been searching for a long time for more small diameter, plastic split ring stitch markers for use with fingering weight yarns and small diameter needles. I have some I like that I've been using for 30 years, but occasionally I don't quite have enough, so I have been on the look out for more. Today while I was introducing a friend to my favorite local knitting stores I found just what I was looking for.

Koigu^TM Neck Cozy The neck cozy and I have always been inseparable winter evenings, but during the week in which our furnace broke down, I wore it night and day when at home. Naturally, the furnace failed during the wee hours of one of the coldest days of the year! When it snagged and got a hole, I decided that I had better knit a back up. In the meantime my sister and a girlfriend each requested one.

This handy, accordion motion tool makes fast work of calculating a pleasing button spacing, without having to crunch numbers. In just a few seconds I marked the button centerlines and began attaching the buttons for the lacy leg warmers. It works as advertised and stores very compactly.
