Happy Dogs are Here Again

Happy Dogs are Here Again

Blue sky, warmer temperatures and sunshine make Shaq and me happy. Smiles don't get much bigger than this one. Shaq was supervisor dog as I weeded and my husband mowed lawn on Sunday.

Winter Visitors

This pair of Brittany Spaniels managed to get out of their yard in cold, snowy weather. The roads were icy and impassable in places and the windchill was at -15 F. My husband had just gone to pick up the mail from the mailbox when these two young dogs (a male puppy and a young female) came to him. He brought them into our heated garage, where they were able to warm up a bit, while we contacted their owner, who didn't know they were missing.

Shaq Relaxes Among Daisies

Shaq Relaxes Among Daisies

Shaq enjoyed the breeze today. At times it was gentle and at times strong enough to cause his ears to flap in the breeze as if he were in a car that had its windows down. This also made it easy for him to catch scents, just by pointing his nose in the direction of the wind. He even opened his mouth to catch more air, as if sipping a fine wine. In this photo he is taking a break in the prairie among the daisies.

Four Leaf Clover

Four Leaf Clover

For the past week or more I have been experimenting with knitted embellishments for 3 purses I am making. One of my ideas was a four leaf clover, the symbol of good fortune, but I haven't seen one in a decade. Well today, during a pause in our jog, Shaq our GSP, pointed at a four leaf clover. Lucky for me, and probably fortunate for the clover which got watered by Shaq.
