Calla Lilies

My mother-in-law's garden always had calla lilies. Whenever the family moved, she transplanted a segment of the calla lily to the new home, and when my husband and I purchased our first home, she brought a piece for our garden, so we could carry on the tradition. She and I shared many hobbies, including gardening and cross stitch. Sometimes we independently selected the same patterns. Sometimes she sent me a pattern she knew I would enjoy. Naturally, when I saw these cross stitch lilies, I purchased two kits, so that we could each have calla lilies year round.           Read more for cross stitch kit details.

These Calla Lilies in a vase, grace my dining room, along with other cross-stitch flowers, the carousel horse, Love Birds and photographs of tiger lilies. I like the simplicity, quiet elegance, mix of full, half and back stitches and the clean lines and disappearing edge of the vase.

The grey mat inside dimensions are 17-1/2" by 7-1/2" within a 20" x 11" brushed aluminum frame.
