Gold Collar

Gold CollarGold CollarThis gold, crochet collar takes a plain turtleneck sweater from day to evening (shown with dark brown sweater), although it was created to embellish a dark velvet evening gown, having a jewel neckline. The design is versatile; the stitch pattern allows for variation in length and width. Click on the thumbnail to view a larger image.

The collar design by Mary Buse Melick is 16-1/2" long x 5" wide, with additional instructions for optional widths of 6-1/4" or 7-1/2" and is crocheted from the neck down, allowing you to try it on to determine fit and length as you go. The original collar was white. I made no changes to the pattern.
