The leaf bordered baby layette design used a ribbon tie, but I preferred a self tie made of a 3-stitch I-cord, in the same yarn as the bonnet, but in a contrasting color. Since the tie is the same pearlescent, soft cotton, like the bonnet it doesn't have to be washed separately. If you click on the thumbnail, to view a larger image, you can readily see the lustre of this yarn.
