Red Fun Fur ScarfI always pair the red scarf, with my red-orange car coat. Whenever I wear this combination, I'm always asked where I found this flattering scarf. The scarf really makes the coat pop, providing cheer in cold weather.
The scarf knits up quickly with large needles and the edges curl towards the wrong side, providing a pleasing finish without any additional edge finish requirements. This yarn is also very forgiving as the eyelashes hide minor mistakes. I actually started by knitting my usual 20 st x 20 st swatch and liked the effect so much, I just kept knitting until the scarf was done--one evening. Because no sewing is required, the gauge doesn't really matter, if you like the effect and dimensions with another size needle, go for it.
Scarf dimensions: 5" x 60", stocking stitch
Gauge: 20 stitches = 5" wide (8 mm needle)
Yarn: Fancy Fur, Lion Brand Yarn Company, Rainbow red (213), Eyelash yarn, 55%:45% Nylon:Polyester 1-1/2 oz, 2 balls.
Pattern for Red Fancy Fur scarf.
Foundation row: Cast on 20 stitches with 8 mm needles or the number of stitches to create the width.
Row 1: Knit across
Row 2: Purl across.
Repeat rows 1 and 2 until the desired length is reached. I liked the fit at 60"- I could drape it around my neck twice.
Cast off. Weave in yarn ends.
