
I love these wild violets, but only let them grow in the grass. One year I transplanted some to one of my flower gardens and they did too well--they were very invasive. In the lawn they have to compete with the grass and last only for a couple of weeks without becoming unruly. If the blades of grass aren't a good enough indicator of the dimunutive size of these blooms, then look at the right-most bloom, which has an ant on it. I didn't see the ant while I was taking the photo.
